II Corinthians is all about the Apostle Paul’s teaching and encouragement to the Corinthian Church to persevere and continue in their faith. It is all about holding up under pressure. Our lives are full of pressures and those pressures can produce doubt in our hearts. In II Corinthians 7: 5, Paul says to the believers in Corinth, “For even when we came into Macedonia, our bodies had no rest, but we were afflicted at every turn – – – fighting without and fear within.” Of course we will not get to this chapter until our winter semester of Bible Studies, but isn’t that what happens in our lives today? The pressures of daily living keep us from rest, we experience afflictions, we fight with the doubts the enemy throws our way and we become fearful within, wondering if we will ever overcome.
So, some of the topics that we will touch on in these 6 weeks of Bible Study are:
- Receiving God’s comfort
- Receiving forgiveness
- Receiving the ministry of the New Covenant
- Receiving the light of the Gospel
- Receiving our Heavenly home
- Receiving God’s grace
So, it is my goal and prayer that as many of the women of our church as possible, will meet together with us on Tuesday mornings or Thursday evenings to see how god has made full provision for us to “Persevere under Pressure.” He has provided it, but we must receive it by faith. Please come join us.
