Our mission is equipping students to live happy, healthy, whole lives, to honor God in all things, and to share their convictions boldly. We provide a worship service weekly on Friday nights where we study the Bible verse by verse, lead our students in singing praises to God, and encourage the students to be a part of a “Connect Group” here on site. We also offer a variety of camps, training programs, and hangout times throughout the year for students to learn to enjoy one another in God-honoring relationships and be challenged to grow in their knowledge of God. We also try to plan at least one work trip each year so the students learn to love people wherever they go, learn to push themselves to go further than they thought they could with God’s help, and learn to pursue God in every circumstance.
We also firmly believe that students grow best when they are involved in church life, in addition to attending a youth group. On Sundays we encourage our students to attend church either with their families or with one another, and we ask them to pray about serving on Sundays as well.
Service at 6pm
Arrive at 6:00pm and you will find us outside ready for some fun. We play Corn Hole, Volleyball, Whiffle Ball, Soccer, or whatever gets our hearts pumping to get the night started. Around 6:45pm, we head inside for worship. Come ready to sing and clap and praise Jesus. After worship we get into Connect Groups, which are an opportunity for High Schoolers to connect with one another about life and offer support to one another through encouragement and prayer. We love the relationships that are made through these groups and we’re sure you will love them too! After Connect Groups we open our Bibles for some study time to discover what God is saying to us from His Word. We worship again to close out the service until about 9:00pm. Occasionally we take the group down to Jack in the Box for a late night snack. We look forward to seeing you there this Friday! Be sure to bring your Bible, if you own one, and a notebook, so you can write down what God is showing you.

I was raised in a Christian home, but never really made my faith my own until my senior year of high school. The summer before senior year, I was blessed with the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Israel. All of the Bible stories that I had heard growing up became so much more real to me. It was at this point, especially when I saw the way God used this trip in my friends as well, that I truly realized the very real strength of God. A few months later, I went to a winter camp in Green Valley Lake with the high school ministry of Calvary Chapel Santa Maria. During the final night of worship, I felt the peace of God come down on that room. My hope is to help the high schoolers that come to Equip find a place where they can openly receive the peace and grace of God and to help build a strong foundation of faith in Jesus before they graduate and go off to college.

I was raised in a Christian home, accepting Christ at the early age of 5. God has blessed me tremendously with an amazing family and an incredible church home growing up (Georgetown, TX). Actively participating in my church’s youth group radically impacted my life, facilitating spiritual growth, affording me opportunities to participate in mission work around the globe, and providing me with lifelong friends. High School is a difficult time in a young person’s life, as teenagers actively seek to establish their identity and are faced with sin, temptation, and tough decisions on a daily basis. My youth group provided me with a solid base of support while navigating the pains of teenage life, ultimately drawing me nearer to God. I hope to assist in providing your teenagers with the same blessing.

Embarrassing Fact or weird talent: I love my poodle…
I grew up going to church often in my childhood, but I did not know the Lord until I was 16 years old. After trying to find purpose and fulfillment in all the wrong places and dealing with a broken family for a number of years, I realized my life was dominated by hopelessness and emptiness. This all changed when my sister invited me on a trip to Lake Shasta with a local youth group. It was there on the shores of that lake that God met me in my weakness and showed me the fullness of his love and how beautiful being a part of his family is. As a youth leader, my mission is to faithfully lead students in worshipping the living God and to reflect the love of Jesus Christ that was graciously extended to me years ago.
