As a church, we need to ask Jesus to help us consider our heart and our attitude toward those for whom the struggle of homosexuality is very real. We shouldn’t be afraid to reach out to or welcome them. The goal should be to have someone who is in this lifestyle be able to feel like the woman caught in adultery did (John 8:3-11), after she interacted with Jesus. She was protected from the religious leaders by Jesus, loved by Him, and was not condemned, yet she was called by Jesus to turn from her sin. We all realize that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us, so we need to follow Jesus as we lay down our lives for many in the grip of this struggle who don’t yet know Him.
